The Guiro Tone Block is an extended version of the Tone Block. The sound body is riffled like the classic scraping instruments and can be drummed with a wooden mallet as with the traditional Tone Blocks.
In addition, the shaft of the mallet can be wiped over the riffled surface of the resonating body, as you would with a guiro (ratchet). Thus, as a mixture of tubular drum and ratchet, this instrument opens up many more playing possibilities and expands the spectrum of sounds in your instrument box. The combination of the two different playing techniques (hitting and wiping) has a positive effect on the coordination skills of the player.
The Guiro Tone Block is made of fine, domestic beech wood and is finished with a very thin lacquer. The finish is of course certified, suitable for even the youngest children and completely safe (saliva & sweat-proof).
